Agreed. Does anyone really know how few people this disease is likely to affect. 80% no symptoms. 19+% minor symptoms. About 0.06% death, but probably only if they already have serious illness/comorbidities.

Why do you think survey shows 40% of GPs won't have the vaccine? Because they know the vaccine presents a bigger risk than Covid.

yep.. 10 times more deaths a day in Lockdown 1, yet twice as many cases a day in Lockdown 2 which has way more testing capacity. These figures simply prove that 20 times more people had it in Lockdown 1 than originally thought, probably without even realising, ......which then also proves it's nowhere near as deadly as the sensationalising media scaremongers make out

The Govt , the opposition, SAGE and the MSM patsies are hiding the truth. The PCR test is very unreliable, the ICU occupancy and death rates are normal and lockdowns and face coverings are ineffective. The evidence for these assertions is now overwhelming but informed scientists with actual data, like Ivor Cummins, Mike Yeadon and others get zero exposure in the MSM.

Let's call the R rate the Rishi Rate. Priti Patel said that she had no idea that she had upset anyone with her bullying, even though months ago the PM had set up an inquiry into it. Donald Trump did say one thing that was correct - probably only one - and that was the cure shouldn't be worse than the virus. He clearly cocked up the whole thing, but I cannot help but think that we (and half of Europe) have gone too far the other way. Lockdown appears to have helped, but by how much? Really? Let's go and ask the 50,000+ people who have died earlier than they should have done across the UK? Maybe ask the ones who survived intensive care as well? And maybe those who were hospitalised but didn't need intensive care? And what about all those people who maybe didn't even realise they had it, but are still suffering the after effects months later? I call BS on your stupid comment! Removed

Is the solution this:

At risk people lockdown (we have enough data to know who this is).

Everyone else cracks on? Kids, uni kids, the general not at risk working population.

The NHS is protected as the people getting it won’t be burdening them and people with other illnesses like cancer can be treated. Won’t have a (more) bankrupt country. People have their liberty restored. Herd immunity.

Imagine if during a bad winter flu season the ONS and govt had tagged anyone who died within 28 days of having flu as a flu death (even if they had chronic heart disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia etc). Wonder how those numbers would compare? The lockdowns are about protecting a broken health system at whatever cost - economic, social, ironically general health. That is the uncomfortable truth.

These comments are offensive and if you are not angry about the government failing to follow its own recommendation on pandemic planning RE: PPE reservers, then you are not paying attention.

WAKE UP... you dishonour the slaughter of healthcare workers that the Tories preceded over...

why do some on here have a problem with restrictions to help save lives?
nearly 600 a day dying now
how come that doesnt seem to register with you
have you no heart or compassion?
whats the matter with you?
i hope you never find yourselves needing others to put themselves out for your survival
karma springs to mind

Somebody, somewhere in a Lab has been watching too many Sci-Fi Films! This COVID is dreamt up to divide and control people to make money and keep people in a job eg Media/Journalists/NHS/Scientists/Govt etc

OF COURSE THEY WANT TO PROLONG THIS FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE AS THEY DID WITH BREXIT BY CHANGING THE DATES EVERY FEW MONTHS AS LONG AS THEY ARE IN A JOB! OK FOR THEM BUT NOT EVERYBODY ELSE!

Judging by how gullible English folk are I am not surprised. No they are stuck with Brexit, EU wants rid of UK it has now to deal with covid-19 and piles on migrants.
