We shouldn't be surprised. Everyone knows ROS struggles to grind out wins when he is out of sorts. As he gets older, he tends to struggle with his A game a little more often. Still the GOAT though

And there will be people still saying he’s the GOAT; that is so subjective and is disrespectful to Stephen Henry.

As disrespectful as spelling his name wrong? It's Hendry unless Thierry's cousin Steve is the one you had in mind

It’s not even a debate, Ronnie is by far the greatest and Hendry has said it many times.

Hendry is the most dominant player we have ever seen. Took over Davis's mantle and moved it forward by a considerable amount.

Regarding Ronnie, he has shown longevity in the game. You could argue in his younger years his immaturity and on/off personal issues cost him but as he matured so did his game. Hence Hendry's records started to tumble.

Both can be considered GOATS. For different reasons.

Pundits still showing their bias before the decider by not even mentioning O'Sullivan's antics at the end of frame 10 playing on when so far behind.

The only slightly logical excuse I can think of is he wanted to make Ursenbacher think about the decider for as long as possible and get nervous but that makes little sense either.

Never been a fan of Ronnie, never will be. But it's easy to be a bad winner, never mind a bad loser. You have to give him this - he talks rubbish sometimes, but mostly he is generous in both victory & defeat.

Though I don't like the guy and think his obsession with globalising snooker has made him oblivious to it stagnating in this country development wise Barry Hearn's the reason why there's so much money in snooker now.
Yeah you're right, Hamilton is rubbish. It has been really close between him and Bottas this season, in the same car. Oh no wait, it hasn't at all because he is a far superior driver. To say it is just his car is naive to say the least. Top driver in all conditions, consistency and concentration over many laps, great at overtaking and putting in a fastest lap. But you know better.

I fail to understand why you are commenting about an F1 driver on here, you do realise this is a sports site don't you! How can you take F1 seriously and call it a 'sport' when they have a practice day to see who has the fastest car, then say, I know we'll let the person with the fastest car go first, that should make it fair and a sporting contest.
Ronnie disrespected the young snooker pros saying that he could beat them with one hand, hence my first point. He also said a load of rubbish about Hamilton as if it is easy to win 7 F1 titles due to his superior car, completely overlooking the amount of talent he has. Hence why I wrote that part. No-one doubts Ronnie's talents but he talks utter rubbish and is disrespectful to his fellow pros.

16 thumbs down and yet not one of those can even attempt to counter what I suggest, says it all about F1 followers, and I didn't even mention the worlds fastest traffic jam that is Monaco, pathetic. There is no other start to a sporting contest that gives such an unfair advantage, even more so after finding out who has the fastest car! 'Safety' - yeah blah blah, heard it all before.

I made no mention of him being the greatest either so I'm not sure why you're making this point to me? Ronnie slated Hamilton. He disrespected his fellow younger pros & got beaten by one of them. He often lacks respect like in the final with Mark Allen the other week. He is talented but quite often childish & unsporting. Why play on in the 10th frame today on the pink when miles behind? Better than Schumacher. Schumacher won titles with complete team orders. He was No 1 and his team-mate would not be allowed to beat him. Who remembers Barrichello having to pull over on the finishing straight to allow Schumacher the win. He had the same understanding with Irvine and Massa. I see both sides of the argument. On the one hand, Ronnie is Ronnie, and people who aren't even that into snooker will tune in to watch him. But also, Ronnie is Ronnie part because of this prodigious talent, part because of his unorthodoxy, but part because the media perpetuates his legend.

Ronnie should rightly dominate headlines, but there should be more focus on other players. Well done Alex!

Pundits still showing their bias before the decider by not even mentioning O'Sullivan's antics at the end of frame 10 playing on when so far behind.

I am not a Rocket fan but he is an amazing snooker player. At times he plays snooker from the Gods. Anyone who plays snooker will understand what I mean.
I am fast losing interest in televised snooker because there are too many matches. I think it should be the top sixteen players that we see on television. Now that Ronnie has left the building so has my interests.

I'll put snooker on now and then as i will with most sports, Is Ronnie still top 16 player? I thought with all tournaments he missed he was out of it.

LH keeps getting brought up here, Ronnie could(and still may) go down as greatest but LH is the greatest in his sport.

Says who? I don't see it anywhere definitive, both are still subjective.

Seeing as though we're on the subject though Schumacher had some real competition, other than the '08 win Hamilton for the most part has just had to beat Bottas + Rosberg and he wins every race.

Bottas + Rosberg don't hold a candle to drivers Schumacher had to beat and who were in different cars like Hakkinen or Villeneuve.

I think it's an ego thing with Ronnie, doesn't feel he gets the recognition he deserves for the talent. But if he did undermine Hamilton then that's a bit self indulged.
I's a more popular sport unfortunately.

I think yesterday summarised perfectly the amount of risk that Ronnie O'Sullivan faces compared to Lewis Hamilton or any other F1 driver. The next time O'Sullivan's snooker cue engulfs him in flames then he can comment on how "easy" F1 drivers have it.

Most sports lovers are glad O'Sullivan's been knocked out. He's a has-been and an appalling advert for UK sport. Good riddance.

You have not a clue what your talking about, Ronnie O,Sullivan, has 7 UK Titles, 7 Masters, 6 World Titles, that makes 20 majors, if it was not for the likes of Alex Higgins, Jimmy White, Ronnie O,Sullivan, and now Judd Trump, Snooker would be nowhere, did you ever hear the word genius, that what all these fabulous snooker players are.

Snooker, a sport?

LOL

Lets be honest man, I could get on my exercise bike and exercise leisurely for an hour and burn more calories, by hundreds, than a snooker player does in an average match.

No one saying LH is not a good driver..but is not The Greatest .....when a forth rate drive is guarennteed second place 'almost' every race then it dilutes what LH has done ....it has too ..that s why he will never ..by most..be thought off as the Greatest ...ever!!

Mind games
