Many other things cause lung damage - smoking, vaping, old fashioned flu - and isn't xenon the stuff they put in car bulbs ? . Not to denigrate the seriousness of Covid, or the validity of this research, but do we really need any more doom and gloom about this virus ?
What an idiot. This is not doom and gloom -this is understanding the damage that the virus can do and having the knowledge to treat it better. Knowledge is power and the more we know about this horrible disease the better. Removed

100's of millions have died under oppressive regimes and millions fought and died to free us from them. There is no question that surrendering freedoms is far more dangerous than this virus. History deniers screaming the propaganda fed them by the masters in whom they misplace their trust.

Here come the comments section PhD holders, brace yourself!!
The other scare tactics are no longer working so, yet again the government's scaremongers have had to think up something new.

Most of those who suffer badly with covid-19 ALREADY have respiratory problems. So it's not much of a stretch to suppose that most, if not all the damage was already there.

Coming next week: "Covid makes you blind".

Do you really think research scientists didn't think of that? Like many commenters you're talking about things you know very little about, and yet are happy in your belief that you know better than people who have spent their entire working lives gathering expertise on the subject.

Already here... Those thinking everyone suffering from Covid-19 or long term health affects from it must have had some health problems already are themselves already blind, deaf and incredibly dumb to facts and reality...

There's some not so medical terms for those like that... it's called "Self Imposed Ignorance" and "Terminal Bewilderment"... sadly for them/ you there is no cure for either...

In case you didn't notice the government is damn near canvasing researchers for things to scare people about.

COVID19 rehabilitation in medical spas can convince the world that treatment with natural remedies in green health resorts are essential. Balneo medicine is a scientific tribune with a response to the corona pandemic with the management of chronic degenerative diseases. European Spas Association starts a Forum about CORONA RECOVERY CONCEPT in medical spas and climate healthresorts.

That is not a counter argument.

What bit of my statement do you think is 'rubbish'? Do you deny the flu can cause lung damage... a quick Google search will tell you it does. Do you deny that you and others, who are suddenly so concerned about lung damage caused by COVID, had never been concerned about the damage done by flu?
Idiot. A quick google search will reveal the Earth is flat. Fool Removed

Never any shut downs for a disease/virus with a fatality rate of 0.5% and which almost exclusively only kills those already knocking on death's door.

No lockdown for Spanish flu, which had a far worse fatality rate and took out younger people far more than the elderly.

Perspective... we have lost it.
I have forwarded your comment to the families of my 3 friends who died of this little touch of the flu. Youngest was in her 40's and had no underlying illness.

Maybe when your close friends start dying you will rue your stupid and unthoughtout posts.
