I add my thanks to all NHS staff and the recent volunteers. While the idea of social distance is good a greater benefit would had by locking down London at the M25 for 12 weeks to stop those escaping to second homes or in to the country from taking the virus with them and for who have already done to be given two days to return before being excluded for the duration. The Army could do this.

Signed up to work for Tesco last week & interviewed. But stupid Tesco and others have contracted out to 3rd parties in India to prove rights to work. Applied day 1, interviewed day 3 with all docs uploaded, but 6 days later and no authorisation for 20,000 immediate start applicants. A week ago we were still being told this was a mild illness for the majority. We are being told by the government, on apparently the advice of experts, we all need to isolate. No surprise all people are hearing is "cry wolf".

If you're going to the S Market and you can't get hold of any of those disposable gloves. A Nurse rightly or wrongly suggested. Using a pair of washing up gloves. Scrubbing in soap and water and disinfectant after use. Better than bare hands.

Haven't had call to say this in many years but today I'm actually feeling proud to be British. 405,000 volunteers in one day, a phenomenal number, doing things to help others for no benefit to themselves. Potentially they are putting themselves at risk also, to help their fellow human beings.This has really gone a long way to restore my faith in the basic decency of people.

NHS workers all deserve medals when this is over. To all those that have returned after retiring - hats off to you and all those final year students heading to the front line all the very best. Shows that all those volunteers are there to support the NHS. PM has morphed into a true leader. Its a fluid time but united we will pull through this and find a better tomorrow.

I get the health workers are angry that they can’t get the right protective equipment, but it’s not like the government are withholding the equipment, it’s in high demand worldwide, so the countries who we get these supplies from are withholding our orders (I get that they are looking after their own)

For Home deliveries of food. Try the wholesalers who used to supply The Pubs, cafes hotels etc. To keep afloat many have started home deliveries. They have in our area. At present delivery within a couple of days. On both Meat and veg. Look at the individual Web sites of these trade suppliers.
