India v Australia: David Warner and Aaron Finch hit tons in 10-wickets win
14/01/2020 | sport | cricket | 195
David Warner and Aaron Finch both strike unbeaten centuries as Australia hammer India by 10 wickets in the first one-day international in Mumbai.
Can only assume the Indian team played like a bunch of Sheilas. Removed

Ah...the Indians were roasted pretty mighty well. Three frontline quicks, two frontline spinners combined to...what? Zero wickets! To me, this match was a truer reflection of the gulf between the Aussie attack and India's. Having thrashed the hapless SAf and the mediocre WI, they thought they were the kings. But the Kings live far away Down Under!

That was a proper roasting. But, what is making ENG fans so exuberant? Certainly not the Aussie win! That means, they are happy jumping at IND's loss? What has that to do with English cheer? And many comments invoke the WC win! Come on! We DID NOT "win" the WC last summer. We could NOT. The Kiwis could not snap all the offers we made, so ICC simply AWARDED us the WC. Disagree?

Don't dismiss the Aussie win simply because of the Newlands cheating. If you love cricket truly, then ponder how Warner-Finch remained unbeaten. Were they flawless in batting? How India only got 255 on what has been reported as a concrete road just shows how poor a nation they are if they aren't playing on turning surfaces. Preparing a road for the likes of Warner and Finch to have the freedom of Mumbai on isn't a clever idea one bit!

@60: Dude FFC2, you surely need some schooling. the Indian TEAM lost a game by 10 wickets, scoring a paltry 255; but how did THE NATION become poor? Why do you synonymize a nation with a team of a sport (out of many) that its nationals play? AUS could not reach the last WC final and was ousted pathetically. Is't ok to say the Australian Nation is pathetic? Come on! Build some understanding!

Lot of England fans here having a pop at India. Let's look at the facts... - India play Indian players, England play whoever they want - India grow their own talent, England use a rotating globe to find talent - India have the richest cricket comp, England have Specsavers - India world cups x3, England x1, oh and 1966 ?? - India attracts world class players for IPL, England have Jason Roy Removed

@32 giving yourself an extra WC are you as far as I know India have won two not three unless you are including 20/20 then India do have 3 but England have 2 and not sure what the Jason Roy comment is about as he may have failed at test cricket but still one of the best openers in the short format
Who are the world champions? Not cheating England who were GIVEN the tournament by an umpiring foul up? Australia doing what England's garbage 1 day squad could only dream of today! Keep dreaming England fans! Removed

@ 63 You accuse the writer of # 60 of lacking in schooling for his assertion that: "How India only got 255 on what has been reported as a concrete road just shows how poor a nation they are if they aren't playing on turning surfaces." Again, can someone post some real insight? 255 is not too bad a score, plus AUS bowlers are very good. But, how did IND fail to take a wicket? What did they do wrong? What good the AUS openers did? Can someone come up with an analysis? Now everyday that you see a team winning by 10 wickets! I am curious!

The arrogance of the Indians is as inevitable as day follows night. This was complacency plain and simple. India don't have the bowling firepower if they are short - they jave the skill if they are par or better to close out 95% of the time as long as there is a bit of pressure on the chasers but when it's easy in minds of the two at the crease nothing is likely to change it.
