A real lack of ambition from a decent player to join such a poor mid table club. His career will turn the wrong corner if he joins.

£60 mil.... So united will pay £80 mil.... Remember when Luis Figo (one of the best players in the world at the time) went to Real Madrid for £37 mil. Way too much money in football today.

He'd have to be very unhappy, shockingly lacking in ambition, short of a bob or two, or 10 sandwiches short of a picnic to want to join United, it is utter career cancer. Granted they have a big ground and glory supporters all over the world but they are at least five years away from challenging to win anything.

I’m a Liverpool supporter of over 40 years, but my father has been a lifelong Man United supporter so I have nothing but respect for United. I think this lad is top quality and would likely make an instant impact for them. No one knew who Ronaldo was when he joined United and look how that turned out. Best of luck to him and the club... except on Sunday of course??

@ 16bit 3. A charismatic manager who would attract top talent. ---------------------------------- Yeah - its not as if you have not had one of those recently! --- I hope you are not referring to JM, he is NOT charismatic he is as toxic as Pogba and a complete an utter waste of time and money. So so glad he is gone, just waiting for him to fail and get sacked by spurs.

United's problem is all the dead wood that they are trying to clear out as well as bringing in new players. Sporting are short of money so trying to offload 2 players who can't get in the team is a non starter - why would they lose their top player and take on 2 wages for players they don't even want?

@69 have you not seen us this season? Have you not seen the stats from our midfield? About 4 goals and 4 assists between the lot of them. Martial Greenwood and Rashford have scored nearly 40 goals just between those 3. Our defence is not bad but not urgent and we have plenty of back up for De Gea at the club. You sir, are clueless

Must be a bit of a mug if he wants to go there, can't think of a recent signing that has been a success for Utd, could argue Maguire I guess but for the fee paid for him personally you would want more bang for your buck

I would be tempted to take the £273 million being offered for Pogba after this news. But then again, Pogba has had nearly 4 world class years at Utd and they will miss his goals so I'm not sure. Hopefully the void can be filled.

He is exactly what Man Utd need, However can Ollie get the best out of him? But at least this means the end of Pogba, I will celebrate that fraud going to another league.

The guy would be absolute clown to go to this farce of a football club under the biggest joke manager in modern football history. Absolutely stupid decision if he has any hope for the rest of his career. He will of course be offered obscene amounts of money due to the desperate nature of the club but he’d do well to resist.

@91 Lol, give me break. Even Wan-Bisakka and Maguire were complete and utter rip offs, hardly improved the team at all. Still an average mid table side who leaks goals just as they were before forking our the best part of £150m for the two of them. Let’s face it, United are a complete mess from top to bottom and it’s soooo enjoyable for us all to watch after we had to suffer you lot for so long.

@95 Ok, don’t just make up figures. He’ll be on £150,000K a week + bonuses compared to his existing wage of around £50,000K a week... so he’ll be, at least, tripling his wages. It’s pretty clear that none of the big boys of English football want him so he’s had to settle for a second rate mid table team on a nice pay packet.

@95 how can he have agreed his terms and contract. The selling club dont tend to give permission to talk until a fee has been agreed or it causes problems if one cant be agreed. Inless of course he was tapped up.

@99 Bissaka at £50M has not been a success, average at best...coupled with £80M Maguire and Utd's defence has been pretty average...that's nonsense James, was quite cheap at £15M was it? shows some potential..however has not been great and is a diver...has been booked a few times for it signings not great at all
